DESCRIPTION:NEW! NIH ORWH Science Policy Scholar Travel Award
span>is a new opportunity for the Office of Research on Wome
n's Health (ORWH) and OSSD to work together to further turn sex as a biolog
ical variable (#SABV) into policy change. This will be awarded to an applic
ant to support the development of junior investigators focused on women and
sex/gender differences, who also has an interest in research policy. Examp
les include, but are not limited to: (1) studies of the effects of these po
licies in promoting the research, (2) identification of policy gaps that mi
ght promote such research and projection of their effects, or (3) identific
ation of specific research disciplines and/or research topic areas where mo
re work is needed to promote women and sex/gender differences. An ORWH awar
d of up to $3,000 will be available to support the travel of the selected N
IH ORWH Science Policy Scholar whose OSSD abstract on women or sex/gender d
ifferences policy is accepted for a poster, oral session, or symposium at t
he 2019 annual meeting. The deadline for NIH ORWH Science Policy Sc
holar Travel Award is February 8, 2019. The award recipient will b
e announced on March 15, 2019. See further detai
