Call for Symposium Proposals & Individual Talks
21st Annual Meeting of the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences
May 3-6, 2027 Great Southern Hotel Killarney Killarney, Ireland

The 2027 OSSD Meeting Program Committee invites proposals for Scientific Symposia and Individual Talks
Symposium Proposal: We welcome proposals in all areas of sex and gender differences research, including fundamental biology (such as evolution, genetics, molecular/cellular biology, microbiome, and physiology) to translational science and clinical research. Strong proposals will include both basic and clinical science (i.e., from bench to bedside).
Strong proposals will consider involving diverse (career stage, discipline, demographics) speakers, and including new speakers to the OSSD. We encourage proposals focusing on fast-moving, timely areas, proposals bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives on a common theme, and proposals that include a diversity of model systems.
Each symposium should have three to five speakers (slots 20–30 min each), with the majority of accepted symposia in previous meetings having four speakers related by a coherent theme, with topics accessible to a range of OSSD members. Speakers will typically be faculty members (or the equivalent), though we encourage that one speaker in each panel be a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. The symposium chair(s) may, at their discretion, be included in the speaker line-up. To promote broad participation and provide opportunities for a diverse range of scientists, each individual may serve as a speaker in only one symposium at the meeting. Confirmation of participation from each speaker is required at the time of proposal submission. When appropriate, the Program Committee may work with the chairs to combine symposia or suggest additional/alternative speakers.
Proposal submissions require (a) symposium title and brief description and (b) name, contact information, tentative talk title, and rationale for selection of each speaker.
Individual Talks: We also invite individual proposals from faculty and senior trainees for talks in any relevant area. Accepted talks will be grouped into symposia or incorporated into existing symposia as appropriate. Please use the link below to submit an individual proposal.
Symposium and Individual Talk Proposals should be prepared and submitted using the links below, by October 2, 2026.
Symposium and Individual Talk Proposals should be submitted and presented in English.
